Michelle, the youngest McKaslin sister of the series, is named after my dear friend Michelle Willingham, who is an author for Harlequin Historicals (www.michellewillingham.com). This is a pic of both of us in 7/08 at the Romance Writer’s National Convention’s Literacy signing. (I’m looking a little stiff and dazed—yikes! But isn’t Michelle gorgeous?) We have been friends since 1996, when we were both unpublished historical romance writers and belonged to the same writer’s goal group.

This is my favorite story of the first series. I had a lot of fun with little sister, Michelle, from her battered pickup with ‘wash me’ written in the dust, to her searching for her place in life, to her falling for an irresistible hero. I laughed a lot when I was writing this story. I hope you did too while reading it!
